Cardiac Risk in the Young is taking forward a campaign to show the government this is incorrect.

There are many charities in the UK supporting bereaved families in bringing about change. Central to all their aims is the fact that young sudden deaths happen and more should be done to prevent these tragedies.
The aims include more;

• awareness,
• support,
• research,
• training,
• AEDs,
• CPR and
• screening.

Each of these areas are vital in the prevention of young sudden cardiac deaths
As long as the incidence of young sudden death is considered “tiny” each of these areas will be under-resourced resulting in many deaths in young people, lives that could be saved.

Once the government accept the true number of young sudden deaths and the impact these tragedies have more will done, much more that is currently being done.
